The project "How To Be Romantic" embarks from my intrinsic realm of perception to deeply explore the term "romance".Employing an amalgamation of diverse media, I interweave environment, space, and corporeality, meticulously seeking avenues to express sensibility within the material realm. The series centered around chalks extend as a response to this very consciousness. Set the drilled chalk as a practical approach. I consider the process of breaking during drilling as a failure, and drilling through as a success, to successfully drill one chalk per day for a total of forty days, conveniently matching the quantity in a box of chalks). Each pencil successfully drilled through is labeled with the date and sealed in a vacuum bag, with its internal powder imprinted on A5 black cards. Meanwhile, the chalks that failed during the production process are collected in a glass jar, becoming the accumulating relics of the consumption process.

My enduring curiosity resides in the intricate interplay of behavioral continuity, bodily measurements, and internal experiences. I engage my own body, conducting both external deconstruction and internal exploration of materials.I reveal the residual traces within the "void" and the essence contained within, conjuring forth the absence of my body and evoking the imaginative experiences projected. The shifting origin point relative to the path impressed after continuous movement alludes to the results generated by the iterative gestures of the body throughout the creative process. Amidst the accumulation of footprints and chalk dust, the seamless continuity of time materializes like overlapping shadows within the two-dimensional realm of paper.

Outer and interior, clarity and haze, fragility and resilience—I erase these binary boundaries gradually, allowing the fluidity and dialectics born from their interaction during the creative process to flow freely within. In this realm, "romance" perhaps no longer remains a mere illusory pact of emotions, but rather, a cycle of futile repetition within reality. "How To Be Romantic" raises inquiries through its title, inviting viewers to contemplate interpretations of sensory experience and offering a canvas for all to redefine.
